It's time for an update, dont you think?

Hellos Hellos Hellooos

It's been a while!!!

usually when something remotely exciting happens in my life, a light bulb flashes and think " i have to blog about it", for some reason, the electricity wires in my brain were down with humidity, lol, it was only yesterday that my current circuit started flowing properly, and as u see, I'm blogging!

every Sunday and Thursday, mama has a lady who comes to help her out with the cleaning. the symptoms cleanliness are obvious, i come home, smell dettol on the stairs, that's how i know that Baheeja is over. Yesterday as i was walking up the flight of stairs, there was no dettol! so i came in, and said my hellos to my parents, and asked mama why did not Baheeja come in today?

and here's the story:

Poor Baheeja is the most clueless woman you can ever meet, really, she's not the vulgar type , or rude, or anything in that category, not at all, as a matter of fact, i don't like to see her when i come home sometimes, because there's so much sadness in her eyes, that can drown Little Miss Sunshine!!! but then again, she wouldn't have left Morocco and came to Libya to work as a maid if her life was all cheery now, would she?

she usually takes a cab to our house, drops her right where she wants, but yesterday was different. As she was approaching our house, she asked the guy to enter the zanga (whats a zanga in english?), but he didn't. He just kept going his way, away from where she asked. Apparently, he had something fishy in mind, because every time she asked him to stop, he wouldn't... dear Baheeja opens the door, and throws herself out of the car, just like in those Hollywood action movies where the victim jumps out of the car, rolls over, and stands, as if its a mundane-day-to-day thing jumping out of cars. Well its not a mundane-day-to-day thing!!! Baheeja is safe and sound Alhamdulila, but the impact was strong enough to nearly dislocate her hips, her knuckles were bleeding, and her sides were bruised poor thing.

and that's why???? probably cos that old granpa asshole of a cabdriver automatically did the Libyan math for Moroccans, which is, Moroccan = slut, excuse my french!

and it just frustrated me, she's such a good woman, i mean if she is the type that oozes sexual signals, i would understand, but really, she's not! it just made me hate Libyan men even more, because that's how MOST of them are, any walking female, is simply and merely something to bang, of course, except for their holy mothers and sisters, not saying that they are not, but u get my point i guess!!!

Isn't this sad? just tell me, can men be more retarded?

Now Baheeja had the guts to jump, those who are more timid, what are they to do?

now, my fellow male bloggers, don't account this as a hint of a insult to you, or start defending MAN in general. because the type of man who allows himself to be so , so, so, so, I DON'T HAVE A WORD TO EXPRESS MY DISGUST!!!

so that's poor Baheeja's story, and its probably the story of millions in Libya, we should make a support group or something from all those physical and verbal harassments.

my only question, WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GROW UP?!

First of all i think zanga is translated to an "Ally" or "side road" but "ally" would be better

now, i am happy that Baheeja is fine and doing well and al-hamid lil-allah 3ala salamtiha from this animal

I am not going to defend this man as his actions are intolerable but I can say that what has been done by this taxi driver DOES NOT represent a society or the majority of men as most wont do such an act

I feel ashamed for him (& others who might do/think such a thing) but i wouldn’t put 100% of the blame on the MEN as the Females are the catalysts for these behaviours and I hear a lot of these things happening with weak taxi drivers ....... again this is not by any means an excuse or a way out but merely an observation

In the end of the day it all comes down to the fears allah and may allah guide us all and keep us away from harm and haram

    Fe aman Allah

    ouch...

consider this.. if 70% of Libyan society is under 30.. what will tomorrow's Libyan man and women be like???

and your right.. these are not exceptions anymore.. it is coming to be the norm to such an extent its tolerated..stereotyped and even joked about.. and I think that Piccolina is right when she said that Libyan girls are also mesh shwayya....

I thank Allah swt that Baheeja made it and that she had the guts to even do such a thing..

    salam

    Salam Romana, Ramadan Kareem,
I just love you! I hate to say this but I was cracking up at your story- not because of what poor Baheeja went through, but how you so passionately describe everything. Truly I can feel what you are saying. Kudos to Baheeja for your stop, drop and roll move - atta girl! "Ain't no man gonna get her down!" In seriousness, I am happy she survived such an ordeal, alhamdullilah.

Thank you for clearing the circuit breakers and coming back out on the blog floor - I've missed you terribly.

    RAMADAN KAREEM

Thank you all for your concerns about Baheeja,

Hey Bro ahmed, well yea, i asked a friend of mine and told me "alley" as well, but u know what i told him?
i told him i feel that alley is bad place where ppl do drugs and get shot! its just, u always here, a dead body was found in tiny alley, lol so i guess i dont like alley, i like zanga better! lol

and no bro, he doesnot represent a society, but MOST of the men, you know what the difference is? some are more discreet than others thats all, but you get harrased anyway.... dont try to convince me that its not true, cos thats a strong belief of mine.

inshalla allah yehdeehom o 7'alas i've got nothing more to say about them...

    ***********************************

Picco, im with you 100%, our once oh so nice libyan girls can not be described that anymore... 7arfaat (sneaky) is a good word! then again, not every girl, but MOST... why did they come to this? what happened for all our values to have changed so radically?

    ***********************************
"consider this.. if 70% of Libyan society is under 30.. what will tomorrow's Libyan man and women be like???"

    hey Roma whats up?
what a sad and shameful stroy indeed!!!
let me elaborate...sad because Baheeja is already experiencing a severe plight, and I cant seem to understand why these people are always an easy prey for sick minded individuals in the society!
its shameful because Im a guy a libyan guy to be specific, and it s such a disgrace that a man would take advantage of another being's vulnerablity! in fact, the term " Man" doesnt apply to this guy; he taints the libyan male image!!!
    ciao roma!

    Hi there
It's a shame what some guys are capable of..This story is about prejudice ,sexism ,and about the loss of morality..
I'm not going to defend my geneder,..These incidents are not rare any more..
You know what is really bad??They actually find excuses for their unexcusable actions...(If she was a well mannered girl she wouldn't walk the streets by her self,,she deserves what she gets)!!!!!
My Eldest sister told me that ,back in the early 1970's,she could take the bus,go to the other side of Benghazi,,buy some staff, meet friends and even go to cinema(the idea of the presence of a decent cinema theater in Benghazi back then still buzzles me)with out a single gesture from people in the streets suggesting that is strange!!!!!
Of course when it comes to their own mothers and sisters,,well,,,u answered that..
Thank God the poor Baheeja of Morocco is safe and sound..

Benghazi Citizen, thanks a lot for this comment, and thank you for acknowledging the fact that these things aren't rare anymore...

It is really sickening how much ppl think can get away with things nowadays… really sickening!
