What would you do if you were in their shoes?!

Racism, how does one start writing about this world-wide dilemma? I’m only going to stick to the borders of my country though. I know that I’m not the first person to attempt writing about it, and some would probably say I’m repetitive and unoriginal, but I DON’T CARE!!! Because every person’s thought counts, and ever person’s feeling, IS ORIGINAL!

It hurts; it literally hurts me when I see how people with black skin are treated
as an inferior race. Who gave the white race an upper hand? Why would color only be the judge of that person’s entire life? Allah created both the black and the white that way, why should there be any difference, but in the obvious color difference? It’s a simple why! No hidden depths in this question, not a deeper meaning embedded beneath it, just, WHY?

How would you like it if people ordered you around and treated you like dirt?
How frustrated would you get, and how insulted would you feel if you have
to shut up and take in, because almost in all cases your job depends on it? How would THAT feel??? I don’t even want to know how I would feel; just thinking about it makes me mad, how about living it, EVERY, DAY, OF, YOUR ,LIFE?

I know that all these words are practically gibberish, life a blank cheque, but there is not much I can do, words with no action, to me it’s a moral epidemic. I just hope this blank cheque of mine makes someone think what would they do if they were in their shoes?

I’ll leave u with an excerpt of Robert Kennedy’s speech, “On the Mindless Menace of Violence” written after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King.

“Some look for scapegoats, others look for conspiracies, but this much is clear: violence breeds violence, repression brings retaliation, and only a cleansing of our whole society can remove this sickness from our soul. ““For there is another kind of violence, slower but just as deadly destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions; indifference and inaction and slow decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colours. This is the slow destruction of a child by hunger, and schools without books and homes without heat in the winter. “

Racism is just stupid, don't racists comprehend that all people of whatever color, religion, race or shape have feelings, and that we actually "kulna wlad tes3a" as they say!

The problem is racism come into many different forms, and one can be resist without feeling and thinking that he's one! It’s just a matter of accepting each other!

I think people fear what they are not and fear what is different, be it color, religion or origin..... but specifically Racism "Color" is a problem with very deep roots and very complex, but as Muslims we know the "There is no difference is color of skin in the eyes of god" but still we are racist ............... i think its hard to put your finger on it and say "That is the problem...."

"Treat people the way you want people to treat you" ...... my Moto :)

Sorry i have not been able to shed much light on this issue but i dont know what to say

I agree with you, racism is becoming really obvious these days, especially religious and race racism!

and it makes me feel really sad, cuz we all live in this "HI TECHNOLOGY" age, and yet we still act selfishly and in an arrogant way!

while racism exists everywhere, in some socities it is controlled more than others.
it exists here in the UK but not so much in the open, in fact I see more racism between asians & blacks & arabs than with white people, as far as I remember racism is rife in Libya whether its against people of different colour or nationality.

here now us Muslims are becoming the new low class mainly terrorists good for nothing people, thats mainly because of the gutter media here and the action of some very stupid so called Muslims.

Maiuna thank u so much for u words... isnot it so sad? that we are in the 21st century, and treating each other as though slavery still exsisted?? how sick is that??

Anglo-Libyan, thanks for ur insight... my brother is in england, and i always ask him whether he's treated any differently...they are, not to a great extent, but one a bus driver refused to take money from them and let them on the bus, and bro told him he could go to the police for him being such a racist...the guy got scared ofcourse and apologized.. the only thing that i cant seem to comprehend, is why? why are we doing this to ourselves, there is no reason what so ever!

and Anglo Libyan, thanks a lot for ur last line, "the action of some very stupid so called Muslims".. so-called.. but to them we're all the same..

racisim is an active thing, then they should hate all the christians for what Adolf Hitler has done to the jews and those who didnot want to convert...

imbecile, thats the word that popped to my head now...

    Salam Romana,
Good topic and reminder to all. We seem to get so numb to our surroundings some days.

I agree with Ahmed. I think racism is ignorance which is rooted in fear. It seems easier for others to assume what they've been told by another person rather than to find out for themselves, which is sinful in my opinion. We've all been given brains and use them to ascertain our own opinions of others rather than just adopting someone else's opinion.

Hey Ibee, yep, we all have our very own brains, but is that how most people use their brains? no, they adopt other peoples ideas, making thinking such a chore... but i always thought to be negative consumes all the energy in you... to hate, to be angry are all the chores..why cant they just be civil, positive towards life, why? its so much easier..and u get a bonous, u get to be happy!
